  We had an amazing time. Came down for Raft up.
  The suite we rented was more like a small apartment. Very comfortable and clean. Updated and room for all our friends to hang out.
  The pub was a bit expensive and the service was slow. We were 50/50 on service. The first night we had an amazing server, the second night he had a girl who appeared lost and not very knowledgeable.
  
  Checking in can be confusing if you have never been to the resort. The girl at the front counter gave us some wonky directions and instructed us to take a water taxi to the pub...turns out the pub was at the end of the bridge she instructed us to walk down to catch the taxi. The gas pump attendant was the most helpful with directions and info.
  
  We docked our boat at the marina and I felt comfortable leaving it overnight. It was well lit, clean and everyone was friendly.
  
  State Dock is literally a swimming distance away and the water taxi is free to get there if you want to put your boat up for the night. Their food prices were better and the bar has a good laid back vibe.
  
  We would definitely be back next year.

  Love their launching system; WAY more organized than the other place we used to put in at.  Launch ramp is nice as well.  Employees at launch ramp very, very nice.  
  
  Overnight, covered slip rental - not so much love.  They charge $60 for a covered slip with electric & water - NO CABLE!!  The marina around the bend only charges $35 & cable is included.  They even gave us cable - for free - since our cable wire was not long enough that we had brought with us.

  Rented a Houseboat from State Dock in 2016.  4 Stars for them.  Decided to go with Jamestown Dock Rental for 2017.  Rented a Tranquility Houseboat.  Bad idea.  Reservation and counter staff were great.  Maintenance guys and boat pilot were also great.  No complaints with the personnel.  That's why the overall operation received at least the one star.  On the other hand, the houseboat was a disaster.  If there was something on the boat that could be broken, it was broken.  Missing simple things like towel bars and clothes hooks in the bathrooms.  
  
  More significantly, the boat had no Inverter.  That means, unless the generator is running, you cannot operate anything requiring electric except the toilets and the radio.  We shut the generator off at 11:00 PM.  The batteries were dead by 4:00 AM.  100% no power at all.
  
  It rained one day and water poured onto the front deck.  Refrigerator, silverware tray, oven, and grill were all dirty.  I don't expect pristine, but they looked like they hadn't been cleaned in weeks.  No grill brush, so we couldn't even clean it ourselves.
  
  This boat needs to be taken out of service for a week and refurbished.  We'll never know if that happens because, in the future, we'll be renting from State Dock.

  This resort / marina is located in an area right by the main (larger) part of the lake in a spacious, developed and convenient cove.  Since we have a boat, it was a perfect situation.   We rented a very inexpensive uncovered boat slip.  It was easy to get to - via boat taxi or by car if we parked in the resort parking lot.  We were also able to park and stow away the boat trailer in another lot nearby and out of the way.  
  
  The people that run the resort are very nice and helpful.  As a matter of fact, there was one employee that seemed to have numerous hats / jobs.  He really seriously impressed us.  
   
  
  We stayed for a few nights.  
  The cabin was basically clean, spacious and comfortable.
  It offers maid service, but they just take your trash and replace towels during your stay.  They don't replace linens or do any other cleaning as far as I could tell.
  It has a complete and full kitchen with a charcoal grill outside, an electric stove, large sized fridge, small microwave, toaster, electric can opener and a coffee maker.    It had some amenities available like plenty of bath towels and toilet paper, some dish ware, like : various glassware and also a smattering of cooking utensils and an assortment of silverware.  There was much missing too.  We needed a grater, and there was not one to be found.  The electric can opener was on the fritz, so we had to use the manual one which was also on its last leg.   There were a few all stainless steel pots and pans, but the Teflon frying pans were very damaged and needed to be replaced.  We didn't use them because we didn't want to eat Teflon.  Bring a scrub sponge as well to clean dishes with.  They only provide a dishcloth.  
  They do not supply paper towels.   Make sure you bring soap products like hand dish soap (no dishwasher), and basic toiletries like hand bath soap and shampoo etc.  
  Also bring salt and pepper and paper towels.  They do not offer those basics as well.  
  I guess the main line of logic here is to think in the semi full camping mode and bring some survival basics to assure you will have them.  That is, so you don't have to run into town and buy a bunch of things to fill in the big gaps.   Bring charcoal, lighter fluid and matches or a fire source as well if you choose to grill outside.  
  
  The beds were smaller - double sized.  
  They were fairly comfortable.   Bring your own pillows because theirs are very soft , cheap and flimsy.  
  The cabin we stayed in had one bathroom, two private bedrooms, and a loft area.  It could basically sleep up to 8-9 people (comfortably ? depending on your perspective).
  You will have to time and plan showers accordingly and strategically. The hot water tank is small - maybe a 15 gallon capacity, and it depletes at a rapid rate.  
  
  The view of the lake is a nice touch, but it was mostly obscured by trees.  
  All In all, compared to the other cabin site we were going to stay at (and ultimately rejected), I can honestly say this place is a real gem and a breath of fresh air.
  At the end of the day, especially when things are put into perspective (and always should be in life), I am really not complaining.  ;o)

  Great two room hotel/resort. Has a fridge and microwave everyone was extremely friendly even help when I had a problem with my watercraft this weekend and they helped me sort it out and get on the water.  
  . the beds are comfortable. The bathroom could be renovated but it's adequate for our needs.  shower head and faucet has all the water pressure you would want, no low flow devices here.  Easy walk to a beautiful clean and nice dock.
  Great view of the lake from the porch/balcony. It also faces east so the sunrises are great to watch.
  Takes a while (10+ minutes) to idle out of the no wake zone.
  If I could say anything that needs attention its the pillows, they are flat
  Only other improvement I would suggest is to place window treatments across the sliding glass doors hard to sleep late with the sun coming in  
  Great  place though. I'll return and would recommend it to anyone considering a Lake Cumberland getaway.  
  The marina restaurant served good (not great) food. Service was good each time I visited. Only wished it had opened earlier each morning to enjoy the sunrise and drink coffee on the lake front.
